Heffron Drive is Kendall Schmidt and Dustin Belt.Happy Mistakes: Unplugged is Heffron Drive's newest album, an entirely acoustic rendition of their breakout release Happy Mistakes. HM:U harnesses the rich qualities of Kendalls voice and overall sound of the band. Heffron Drive recorded, engineered, produced and played everything on Happy Mistakes: Unplugged proving that the duo is more than what meets the ear. Heffron Drive was formed in Burbank, CA in 2008 by Kendall Schmidt and Dustin Belt. Both originally from Wichita, KS, the duo met on the street "Heffron Drive" where they quickly became friends and began making music together. Shortly after creating the band, Kendall booked the Nickelodeon / Columbia Records television show "Big Time Rush". Dustin became the touring guitarist for the band, and they two spent nearly 5 years on the road with that band. Now on indefinite hiatus with BTR, Heffron Drive was revived and the two are in full force promoting it.

***SOLD OUT*** Kesha and The Creepies: The F*ck The World Tour
8:00pm All Ages
KESHA announced ‘THE F*CK THE WORLD TOUR’ saying, “I thrive from making and performing music, and much like a flower with no sun, my soul slowly dies when I don't get to create and perform. So, for a short ride and in mostly small intimate venues, I will be performing a new creepy creation. It's been too long.” The tour will kick off the first weekend in August and play a mixture of intimate clubs and larger venues throughout the month with a total of 11 stops.
Kesha has taken the world by storm since the release of her debut album Animal in 2010. She has had eight consecutive Top 10 hits, including four #1 singles: "TiK ToK,” "Your Love Is My Drug,” "We R Who We R,” and “Timber,” a multi platinum award winning collaboration with Pitbull. But on this tour Kesha is reimagining her chart topping catalog with a raw organic spirit. “This project and upcoming tour comes from my deep eternal love of dirty rock & roll and country music,” said Kesha “Until I can release my own music I will be reinventing some of my old songs and some of my favorite songs from my musical idols. I've hand picked songs from artists that have helped shape who I am and the music I make today. I have missed you, all of you, so if you would like to boogie, come join us.”

Mon 08/15 91.3 WYEP presents Best Coast with special guests The Stargazer Lilies 8:00pm All Ages
California Nights is a brighter, more sparkly, more sophisticated, more psychedelic Best Coast album across the board, embodying the rich lightness and stinging darkness of a California state of mind. The love stories Bethany spins on California Nights all detail the highs and the lows of relationships, similar to the juxtaposition of a the band’s native Los Angeles - a place tinted by candy-colored palm trees and pale blue skies while existing within the loneliness and desperation of waterless place. More than that, there is a literal meaning to the record’s title - Cosentino is a well-documented insomniac whose creativity spirals out in the early hours of the morning, allowing her to write, undisturbed, the finest album Best Coast has made to date.

Wed 08/17 91.3 WYEP presents Old 97's with special guests American Aquarium 8:00pm All Ages
Their new album Most Messed Up finds the Old 97′s at their raucous, boozy best, all swagger and heart. Titles like “Wasted,” “Intervention,” “Wheels Off,” “Let’s Get Drunk And Get It On,” and “Most Messed Up” hint at the kind of narrators Rhett Miller likes to inhabit, men who possess an appetite for indulgence and won’t let a few bad decisions get in the way of a good story. The band is joined by friend Tommy Stinson ( The Replacements, Guns ‘n’ Roses), who lays down electric guitar on a number of tracks, elevating the sense of reckless musical abandon to new heights and lending the album an air of the Rolling Stones’ double-guitar attack.

Sat 08/27 The Noise presents Periphery - Sonic Unrest Tour with special guests SikTh, Chon, Toothgrinder 7:00pm All Ages
The legendary traditions of progressive rock are not without critics. Detractors say the otherwise celebrated style lacks spirit. It lacks emotion. But Periphery smashed this misconception to bits across two full-length albums and a handful of unconventional releases. The band’s mind-bending instrumentation and diverse vocalizations are delivered with vibrant urgency and inescapable hooks that act as an inviting tip to the sonic iceberg lurking beneath. Periphery’s appropriately titled third full-length collection, Juggernaut, lays waste to all expectations within and without the genre. The meticulously crafted, thematically driven, two-album masterpiece is the end result of focus, determination and unrelenting ambition from the creatively obsessive and boundlessly skilled heavy music alchemists.
