| The Melvins formed in Aberdeen/Montesano, WA in 1983 the founding members were Buzz, Mike Dillard (drums), and ex-Mudhoney bassist Matt Lukin. Buzz, Mike, and Matt all went to high school in Montesano. The name Melvins came from a grocery clerk at the Thriftway in Montesano where King Buzzo served as clerk and vandal. Melvin was the most hated fellow employee and they felt it to be an appropriately ridiculous name.
When Mike couldn't cut it, as rumor has it because the songs were getting too mathematically complex, Dale was recruited out of the Iron Maiden cover band he played in at the age of 15. Marina and the Diamonds, really just Marina Diamandis, was born in Wales to Welsh and Greek parents in 1986, although she has often claimed to be from Ancient Greece. After dropping out of four different music courses at four different universities, Marina decided to make her own way in music, and began writing her own unique brand of left-field pop songs under her new stage name. Early on, she claimed that her inspirations were Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani -- who she often covered at live gigs -- but her songs have a soulful edge pointing to a deeper source of influence. | The Dandy Warhols have already established themselves as musical icons with their songs “Bohemian Like You,” “Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth,” and “We Used To Be Friends.” In August of 2008 they released Earth To The Dandy Warhols, their sixth full-length album, on their own label Beat The World Records. Released initially as part of a subscription service that also gave members access to the exclusives through the rest of the year, the album was followed by a successful world tour. | Attack Attack! is an American metalcore band known for their use of electronica along with classic post-hardcore style of music from Westerville, Ohio, formed in 2007. Attack Attack!'s first release, an independent EP titled If Guns Are Outlawed, Can We Use Swords?, was released in 2008, which led to the signing of the band to Rise Records the same year. They then released their two full-length albums, Someday Came Suddenly and a self-titled album both through Rise. A third album entitled This Means War was released on, also through Rise.
