Mr. Small's Facility
Located only 5 minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh, Mr Small's Funhouse merges together what is becoming Pittsburgh's new Industry Standard:

A state-of-the-art Theatre, two on site full service recording studios, Art Gallery, Skate Park, our backstage Rock Hostel for Artist housing, and unique In-House Talent Buying & Production Departments. We produce events in the 650 capacity Theatre, Pro-Am Skate Demonstrations at the Skate Park, and large outdoor concerts at the Skate Park. Our Audio & Video departments can capture every concert live and produce Major Label-worthy live Concert DVD's, Official Live Releases, and Studio Produced Albums.

Theatre
At the heart of Mr Small's Funhouse lies its 650 capacity performance theatre, which includes a full bar. In three short years Mr Small's Theatre has not only carved its niche as the best small music venue in Pittsburgh but as one of the finest in the country. When USA Today/Esquire Magazine named Pittsburgh the best place to rock, it followed by saying, " Mr. Small's reputation is growing as quickly as its fans are.

Recording Studios

Mr. Small's Funhouse began as a single recording studio and has evolved into a vast complex including three state of the art digital recording studios fully equipped with all of the hardware, software, engineering/production knowledge and amenities a client would ever need. In addition, Mr. Smalls pioneered the “Live Show Recording” phenomenon in Pittsburgh, recording such bands as Anti-Flag and Gwar. Live multi-tracking from the Theatre Stage to the Rectory Studio via a 32-channel snake allows bands to record to an external firewire drive and leave with a multi-track digital recording through our Pro Tools HD 3 Accel System. Mr. Smalls primary studio is now located on the Northside just five blocks away from Heinz Field.

Rectory House

The Rectory House incorporates the backstage areas for the Theatre, live session recording studio, video production room, as well as staff offices. What once was the Priest's living quarters at the Church now provides a comfortable and creative atmosphere within the traditional Victorian architecture. The house also opens into the enclosed courtyard.
Artists can inquire of its services when booking studio time, rehearsal time or concert bookings and advancements.

School House

St. Ann's Schoolhouse which is adjacent to the Theatre and Rectory House was redesigned into art-studio-production spaces including Small's main offices, Recording Studio C, Opus One Productions, an art gallery, and a pair of two-bedroom, low-income apartments that are specifically geared towards artists. Although the apartments and art spaces are completely renovated they have retained elements of the old classroom feel such as the chalkboards, large windows and high ceilings. The Art Gallery is connected to the SchoolHouse Studio, featuring the work of local and national artists and an exhibit of the many CD covers to come out of Mr. Small's Recording Studio in the last 6 years.

Skate Park

All of us at Mr. Smalls are sad to release the news that Mr. Smalls Skate Park is permanently closed.
When Mr. Smalls Skatepark opened 10 years ago, we were the only skatepark in the area. 10 years later, free parks have multiplied throughout the city.  Even though the Skatepark will be missed tremendously, there have been some amazing memories created.
