Ian Fitzgerald
Ian Fitzgerald
Ian Fitzgerald was reared in a small Massachusetts town; resides now in a different small Massachusetts town; and lived in Rhode Island for a spell in between. Regardless of where he's been, Ian has maintained a lifelong passion for music which has only grown in the decade that he has been writing songs and playing them for audiences throughout New England and up and down the east coast. In that time, Ian's compelling lyrics and indelible melodies have won him first place in the Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest (for the song "Lillian") and earned him a spot in the Emerging Artist Showcase at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and a Quad Showcase performance at the 2013 Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference. In their review of his latest album, No Time To Be Tender [2013], Performer Magazine called Ian "a polished songsmith who is high atop a field of great artists breaking through to festival and folk concerts throughout the States." That breakthrough continues as Ian tours in support of that record, including recent performances at the NXNE Festival and the kickoff show for this year's Newport Folk Festival.
As Ladders
As Ladders
As Ladders is a Pittsburgh, PA based, folk-rock band formed in the late summer of 2015. The sound of the group resembles that of classic folk singer-songwriters, with effect-rich elements of modern rock n' roll.
Kayla Schureman
Kayla Schureman
“Kiss the Ground,” the first full-length album from Kayla Schureman is a windows-down ,whatever the weather, drive through the Americana soundscape. Subtle nods to artists like Ryan Adams, Jenny Lewis, Jason Isbell, and Kathleen Edwards abound, but the songs are fresh, focused and pulling their own weight. At times dark and desperate, each song still glistens with the hope of the great wide open, territory that Schureman narrates and navigates with one eye on the rearview and her foot on the gas. A little bit country, and never short on rock and roll, the album tells a story that’s there and back and gone again with plenty of guitar along the way. She will be joined on stage with her full band made up of some of Pittsburgh's finest: James Hart, Rich Kawood, Nate Campisi, and Evan Palmer.
